About this tool
A QR code is just your text turned into a pattern of squares that a phone camera can read. This generator creates the code on your device, so the link or text you type is never sent anywhere.
Keep the dark colour much darker than the light colour, or scanners may fail. The error-correction level decides how much of the code can be damaged and still scan: higher levels survive scratches or a small logo but make the code denser. Medium is a good default. For printing, choose the SVG, which stays sharp at any size. This tool handles up to roughly 200 characters, which is enough for a normal link; very long text will need a shorter link.

Frequently asked questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code simply contains your text, so it works as long as the link or information inside it is still valid.
Which should I download, PNG or SVG?
Use PNG for screens and documents. Use SVG for printing, because it stays sharp at any size.
How long can the text be?
Up to roughly 200 characters at Low error correction, a bit less at higher levels. If it is too long, the tool tells you.
