About this tool
This tool looks at the colour around the edges of your photo, treats that as the background, and removes every connected area of a similar colour. That is very quick and needs no upload, but it is not artificial intelligence, so it cannot tell a person from a busy street behind them.
Good results come from plain backgrounds: a white wall, a studio backdrop, a clear sky. If part of the background is trapped inside the picture, for example between an arm and the body, turn on "Also remove matching colour inside the picture". If the subject starts to disappear, lower the tolerance.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work on any photo?
It works best when the background is one plain colour. Busy or multi-coloured backgrounds will not come out clean, because the tool compares colours rather than recognising people or objects.
Why is part of my subject missing?
The subject probably has a colour close to the background, such as a white shirt on a white wall. Lower the tolerance, or use a photo with more contrast.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The photo is processed inside your browser and is never sent to a server.
